Este's exclusive effect additionally increases additional-hit damage when in combat with an enemy that has a debuff, and reduces damage received from the target. Guide

Note: the following is NamuWiki community assessment (KR server), subjective. No explicit S/A/B tier rating is stated.

Performance: Base class Mage. Tier 2 has exclusive class "Charming Mage"; Tier 3 classes are Dark Wizard / Florist / Dream Weaver. Ult is "Hedonic Grab". Unique passive "Beguiling Mirage": when no enemies are nearby, if attacked by a male character and an adjacent empty tile exists, she leaves a clone and moves, entering "Phase Leap" and taking no damage, gaining the Beguiling Mirage buff. During Phase Leap she takes no damage/skills/effects but cannot act. It is removed at the start of the ally turn (so no impact on acting), but she cannot gain TP during it, so be careful there.

Class: Tier 3 options: Dark Wizard (learns Triple Elemental Blast, "TEB"), Florist (disrupts male enemies' skill use), Dream Weaver (supports allied males).

  • Dark Wizard: common class that learns the Pendragon mage corps' signature Triple Elemental Blast; passive confuses nearby enemies (making them flee) and cuts resistance at char turn end. Whether inherited from her grandmother, Este (strong survivability vs male enemies) can use it usefully, but confusion/resistance-reduction applying to only 2 enemies is a letdown.
  • Florist: exclusive class that learns "Furispore". Puts 1 skill of the nearest 1 enemy on cooldown; in combat, spell power rises and damage taken drops per skill on cooldown on the target. No range limit on the cooldown effect (only proximity priority), so it's quite strong. Furispore is a very strong main skill, so priority leveling is recommended.
  • Dream Weaver: exclusive class that learns "Mass Hypnosis", following the Charming Mage - Dream Weaver exclusive tree. Nearby allies gain spell power and reduced AoE damage taken; when Este uses an action-control skill, her chance to be crit and AoE damage taken drop. An ally spell-power support class.

Exclusive skills and ult: three exclusives: Furispore (Florist), Deadly Charm (Charming Mage), Mass Hypnosis (Dream Weaver).

  • Furispore: TP 2. Deals 150% spell power to an enemy within 1-3 tiles. If the caster has a debuff, an extra hit adds 100%. If the target is male, another extra hit adds 50%. When self-debuffed and attacking a male, she can deal a huge 300% spell-power single-target burst.
  • Deadly Charm: TP 1. Cuts target movement by 1 and forces it to move toward Este on its turn ("Deadly Charm" debuff). If the enemy ends adjacent to Este, Deadly Charm is removed and replaced by the unremovable "Lingering Attachment" debuff (counter-disabled, damage dealt to Este -80%).
  • Mass Hypnosis: TP 3. Designate 1 tile within 3 tiles; enemies within 2 tiles of it get a 1-turn Hypnosis debuff and one skill put on cooldown. Hypnosis = action-disabled + TP-recovery-disabled for 1 turn, removed if damaged; duration +1 turn vs males.
  • Ult Hedonic Grab: designates 1 enemy for instant control; when the debuff is removed it deals spell-power-based damage and applies "Confusion". As a Mind Control type ult, it's a tremendous instant-control skill. Este's main skills have low TP cost, so timing it is easy. As a neat original-work nod, Roberto de Medici gets +1 turn debuff duration.

Weapon & recommended gear: Exclusive weapon Lure Butterfly (bonus stat: spell power), a legend staff increasing magic damage to enemies that have an action-control effect; Este's exclusive effect additionally raises extra-hit damage vs debuffed enemies in combat and reduces damage received from the target. Since Furispore triggers extra hits, it's a Furispore-enhancement weapon. Besides the exclusive weapon, Diablo's exclusive "Lord of the Moon" also has action-control-based effects and is usable. Armor: because main skills have long cooldowns, the Pope set (Rubens Heisenberg papal-costume motif, has cooldown reduction) is most recommended; the Chancellor set (Veradin motif) can go all-in on spell power for a Furispore-main build. The Great Sage set (Vishnu Man motif) is not recommended unless dropping single-target for TEB + Electric Wave (Great Sage 2-set is worth considering). TP cost is low, so the Cardinal set (Van Dyke cardinal-costume motif) is also not recommended; at Hero grade give the Dark Mage set (no other choice anyway). Accessory: at Legend grade the Stopwatch is most recommended (spell power + cooldown reduction); at Hero grade give a Whetstone to boost Furispore burst, or Black Dice for survivability.

Evaluation: An action-control specialist tuned against male enemies. The background emphasizes her femme-fatale side and greatly downplays the "competent, well-governing lord" side; via exclusive weapon/skills it establishes an original character trait not in prior lore: a "haraguro (black-hearted) sly-fox villainess who specializes in hypnosis and brainwashing". In PvE most enemies are male so she works well, but she is merely stronger vs males with no penalty vs female/genderless, so she's usable anywhere; with TEB and Furispore (up to 300% spell-power dealing) her damage isn't lacking either. Ignoring efficiency, she can be run as a magic dealer with Dark Wizard + Electric Wave + TEB + Furispore. In PvP, given her concept she performs well even at the name-card (unawakened) stage, and her hypnosis/brainwashing goes through all male characters with no restriction whatsoever, making her a decisive anti-male weapon that can almost certainly take out one targeted male. To counter the opponent's Black Prince and protect one's own, top-tier users unconditionally max Este first. Because of this, although within the realm of gameplay allowance, complaints arose that it might be a setting error.
