Guide
NamuWiki community assessment (KR server), subjective community opinion:
Performance overview: Base class is Ranger. Tier 2 has the unique class Skirmisher; Tier 3 classes are Edgerunner / Concordian / Grey Herald, all brand-new classes matching current trends. Ultimate is Gray Shadow Ascension Dance.
- Unique Passive "Guardian of Grey": ATK increases unconditionally by 10%~25%; after being attacked, if HP ratio is 30%
35% or below, gains Guard of Dawn once every 43 turns. At 6-star, damage received reduced by up to 10% based on lost HP ratio. Guard of Dawn: 80%~95% of ATK as shield, lasts 2 turns, cannot be dispelled. Survival-focused passive; since most of GGS's skills scale on ATK, the unconditional ATK boost is welcome.
Classes:
- Base movement is 4 (Ranger). Tier 3 has three options: Edgerunner (charge in, wreak havoc, then return; creates control zones), Concordian (no utility but strong survival and damage), Grey Herald (self-buffs then copies to allies for support; strengthened by held buffs/debuffs; ignores control-zone movement).
- Edgerunner: learns Shadow Assault. Creates control zone on adjacent tiles; gains "Breach" buff per enemy in surrounding 8 tiles before attacking; using a "movement attack" skill grants max-stack Breach plus an extra attack/skill chance. Breach: ATK +15%, damage received -10%, max 2~3 stacks, lasts 1 turn. Can use Shadow Return before turn end to return to ally turn-start position, removing all Breach. Specialized for hit-and-run; at max Breach stacks ATK up to +45% and damage received -30%. Note: Shadow Assault, which is learned here, has movement-attack property and synergizes with Edgerunner, BUT deals half damage when used as the Edgerunner class. GGS's only two movement-attack skills are Shadow Assault and Boundless Flash Soul.
- Concordian: learns Sealing Strike. Damage received reduced up to 25% plus additional reduction of 20% of lost HP ratio; ATK/physical penetration up to +30% vs enemies with debuffs; +50% damage to enemies at 35% HP or below on combat attack. Combat-attack and survival focused, no utility but just tanky, favored against low-HP/debuffed enemies. Reads as raid-oriented.
- Grey Herald: learns Edict of Mediation. Ignores control-zone movement; when attacked while holding buff/debuff, ATK +30% and damage received -20%; at action end, randomly gains one "Message" buff and copies 2 of own applied buffs to 1 other ally within 2 tiles. Message buffs: ATK & spell power +20%, max 2 stacks, 2 turns, ATK & spell power +10%, DEF/RES +5% of ATK, max 2 stacks, 2 turns, AoE damage received -15%, move distance +1 no-stack, ignore control zone, ignore slow, 2 turns, max HP +10%, recover 30% of ATK at turn end, 2 turns, crit rate +10%, crit damage +10%, max 2 stacks, 2 turns. Using Edict of Mediation reduces its cooldown by 1. Strong randomness but unique support class; a terminal-tier buffer that also acquires GGS's main skill Edict of Mediation and cuts its cooldown, so recommended as #1 priority to raise. Buff-copy triggers on "action end" including re-actions, so with luck can shield 3 allies (incl. GGS) with Shield of Mediation in one turn.
Core skills & Ultimate:
- Blade Rush: TP 2, single-target melee 140% ATK, gains Weapon Block, cooldown 2. Weapon Block: 70% chance in combat to block, taking 50% less damage (blocked damage cannot crit), 1 turn. Supports GGS tanking, triggers on counter/pincer too; problem is it's a chance (Valkyries guaranteed at least 1 block at 100% HP; this doesn't, and chance is 10% lower). 70% is still high, but weigh against self-heal TP 1 and ranged TP 2.
- Shadow Assault: TP 1, teleport to a tile within 3, AoE 120% ATK to enemies in surrounding 8 tiles, gains crit rate received -20%, 2 turns, cooldown 2, movement-attack. -50% damage if holding a Breach-class passive. Called a broken skill: teleport + AoE + crit-rate-down buff for only TP 1, 120% multiplier. Combos with Edgerunner to breach and return, but that combo halves damage.
- Sealing Strike: TP 2, range 1
2, applies Force Seal: cannot attack, cannot counter, 1 turn, 90% ATK to target plus 50% ATK fixed damage to enemies within 1 tile of target, cooldown 3. Damage low but freely applies the same Force Seal that Diene brought as an exclusive; as an AoE the damage isn't really low, Force Seal is famously broken, and 12 range lets you hit slightly distant enemies. - Edict of Mediation: TP 1, cooldown 3. Just equipping it grants a passive. Passive gives allies within 2 tiles an Edict of Mediation aura reducing ranged damage received, scaling with distance (2 tiles: -15% / 3 tiles: -25% / 4+ tiles: -35%), infinite duration. Using a skill on an ally removes 1 debuff from them; using on an enemy extends their non-action-control debuff duration by +1 turn. Active gives an ally within 3 tiles a Shield of Mediation, 80% ATK shield, +50% if HP <=50%, DoT received -50%, ATK +20% when attacking/attacked while holding a debuff and removes all action-control effects, plus grants an extra skill/attack chance. Called GGS's alpha and omega. Praised as a fast counter to first-turn Heidelun.
- Ultimate Gray Shadow Ascension Dance: designate 1 tile within 1~3, deal 110%~130% ATK to a 3x3 area centered on it, heal all allies for 60%~90% of ATK, and once per game grant the infinite-duration buff Bound Will: ATK & spell power +10%~15%. From 6-star, applies Force Seal to all damaged enemies. Narrow range but all-in-one deal+heal+support; location-targeted (not target-designated) and usable even with no enemy in range. At high star can disable up to 9 enemies via Force Seal.
Dedicated Weapon & recommended gear:
- Weapon is a greatsword. Extra stats: ATK & HP. GGS synergy is perfect; "before skill use" condition applies stats immediately even on buff skills, and movement-attack skills grant Focus easing TP burden. When Focus procs, Shadow Assault becomes free; at 4-star the basic attack after a movement attack becomes a free ranged damage skill, greatly boosting damage. Full star also covers ATK-down debuff resistance but poor value, so 4-star is generally recommended for high-star aims.
- Armor: since heal/support/deal skills all scale on ATK, stack ATK. Basically Hyeopgaek 2-set or Salsu 2-set for ATK. For Ilgidangcheon, GGS gets physical penetration easily so 2-set recommended; the 4-set (ATK) requires combat attack which is slightly awkward for a GGS that pours buffs from turn 1, but still usable. For tanking, the Pungun set from regular G.S days is also viable.
- Accessory: Ancient Hero's Ring is best as always (ATK +10%, crit damage received -10%, plus HP recovery). But since GGS can equip the Ancient Hero's Seal artifact with the ring's recovery via Awakening, at high awakening other choices open up. Besides the ring: defensively with Concordian gives ATK-up and phys-pen, good synergy, offensively ATK & phys pen. At Hero grade, Wolf Fang is best for the same reason as Marksman's Spell Bullet.
Evaluation: An all-rounder Ranger who can solo do deal, heal, tank, support, and debuff, and protects allies from ranged attacks. Investment is simple (just stack ATK). Via Edict of Mediation shields, indirect healing by copying Charter of Patience to others as Grey Herald, and ultimate whole-team healing, it can even be considered the first Legendary-grade healer of the Green attribute. Just equipping Edict of Mediation protects nearby allies from ranged attacks, making it the optimal counter to first-turn Heidelun who rushes in and blows up games with AoE. Used as a counter to the strongest ranged dealer Heidelun, so in PVP it is rated as a character who forces combat into melee. Its damage is hard to rate as main-dealer level, but with dedicated ATK investment it pulls its weight; an all-rounder this versatile also having great damage would have been game-breaking. (No explicit S/A/B tier letter rating present in this text.)

KR Creator Guide
Character review of Gray Knights G.S by 하막군의게임튜브 · 2026-08-04
The reviewer's summary is that Gray Knights G.S. is Albertini de Medici and Shakvari combined, with better movement on top — and since both of those are strong, so is he. Good stats, good damage, and above all very hard to kill: he reports G.S. surviving a Heidelun Terminal Protocol+1 more → outright, and losing a guild-battle star because his team simply couldn't remove one. (19:28)
He is also blunt about the presentation: the portrait is Black Prince's skin with a hood on it, and he expects the developers to hear about it. (0:00)
Dawn's Guard only triggers on being attacked
Below 35% HP after being attacked, he gains a shield — and from 2 manifestations, an extra action as well.
The wording matters. Damage-over-time dropping him below the threshold does not count, because that isn't "after being attacked". So Omega's Killing Virus chewing him down grants him nothing. (1:32)
Class: Edgerunner to attack, Grey Herald to automate
Edgerunner gives a Control Zone on adjacent tiles, stacks Charge before attacking (up to 3 for +45% ATK and -30% damage taken — and a move-attack fills all three at once), grants an extra attack or skill on a move-attack, and lets him return to where he started the turn before it ends.
That last part resolves after everything else — after extra actions, after any Vigor attacks — so you can range across the map and still finish where you began. (2:02)
Concordian is the durable option: -25% damage taken plus up to 20% more as HP drops, +30% ATK and Physical Penetration against debuffed enemies, and +50% damage into targets below 35% HP. If you run it, pair it with Cursed Eye — which he notes was broken and has since been patched to work. (3:34)
Grey Herald ignores Control Zones, grants ATK and damage reduction whenever he attacks or is attacked while carrying any buff, and at end of turn grants a random Concordian buff, then copies two of his buffs to one other ally. Only removable buffs copy — Weapon Block, for instance, does not.
Of the five random buffs he singles out the passage agreement: area damage reduction, Movement +1 and control immunity. (4:36)
His split: Edgerunner for manual attack play, Grey Herald when the AI is driving (defence teams, arena). (13:20)
Sealing Strike is the broken one
Sealing Strike applies Incapacitate to its target — no attacking, no counterattacking — for 90% damage, plus 50% fixed damage to enemies adjacent to the target. Only the primary target gets Incapacitate.
The reviewer's description of the effect in play: the enemy walks up and then simply stops, unable to do anything. Range 2, but still tagged as a melee combat attack. (8:22)
Mediation's Edict, and the controversy
Simply having it slotted creates an aura granting allies debuff-clearing on ally-targeted casts and debuff extension on enemy-targeted casts — plus ranged damage reduction, which matters enormously in the current Heidelun meta.
This is the skill that caused a public argument. The aura was advertised as 3 tiles and only ever worked at 2. Players reported it as a bug; the developers determined the text was the bug and changed it to 2 tiles rather than fixing the range. The reviewer is unimpressed — he expected it to be restored to 3 and says an apology and compensation don't settle it. (9:44, 10:44)
Cast on an ally it also gives a shield worth 80% of ATK — 120% below half health — cuts DoT damage by half, and grants ATK while they carry a debuff. (11:14)
The ultimate does everything
3-tile range, hits a ring for 140% and applies Incapacitate, and separately heals every allied player for 100% of ATK, gives them 1 TP, and grants Bound Will once per match.
The reviewer's own idea, which he notes he's never seen anyone actually use: take a barrier on turn one, fire this on turn two, and hand the whole team a TP so everyone can reach their ultimates at once. He rates it highly in arena for the same reason. (11:47)
Skills and gear
Blade Rush, Sealing Strike and Mediation's Edict is his loadout — but on Edgerunner, drop Blade Rush for Shadow Assault, which is one of only two move-attacks he has and therefore the trigger for the Charge and extra-attack mechanics. Note Shadow Assault takes a 50% damage cut under Edgerunner, landing at 60% rather than 120%. (8:11, 13:51)
Gear is taste: One Against a Thousand with Envoy of the Storm, a knight set, or even four-piece Black Crow. Accessory: Black Banner ideally, Ancient Hero's Ring otherwise. (13:51)
The weapon is mandatory — ★4 for value
Onslaught Blade stacks ATK and Physical Penetration, and move-attacks grant Focus.
★4 adds Balanced Strike: after any skill, the next basic attack becomes 140% at range 2 — and drops the Focus cooldown to 1. That's the value line. ★5 takes Onslaught Blade to 3 stacks; ★6 adds Lion's Heart (ATK can't fall below 70%), which he rates as the least valuable of the three.
Even a single copy is better than none. (14:53, 15:53)
Runes
Chaos, Ultimate, Ultimate, Sun. Slot 5 Ultimate is the one that matters — healing and shield increase — with Sun for Crit-damage-taken reduction and ATK. (16:25)
Artifacts
Orb of Insight is the offensive pick — Crit Rate, Crit-taken reduction and a
+30% damage-taken debuff.
Ancient Hero's Seal is what he expects most players to use: the Ancient
Hero's Ring effect plus Physical Penetration, and with the weapon's 30% it's
unusually easy to reach 100%. Its healing reduction also pairs well with Diene
