Guide

Performance overview: Base job is Mage. Tier 3 classes are Archmage / Sorcerer / Storm Caller. Ultimate is Eld Empire. Unique passive is Privilege of Abundance: gain coins when other allies act, and at turn end "bet" held coins to multiply up to 3x. If the bet result is 10+ coins, randomly gain one of Coin Burst / Ether Barrier / Cycling / Arcane and lose all coins. From 5th awakening, max multiplier rises to 4x and Double Cast is added to the pool.

  • Coin Burst: spell power +2~4% per stack. Stacks equal to held coins. 1 turn.
  • Ether Barrier: shield = 4~7% spell power per stack. Stacks equal to held coins. Immune to skill-control while shield holds. 2 turns.
  • Cycling: on skill use, used skill cooldown -3. Removed after triggering. 2 turns.
  • Arcane: on skill use, recover consumed TP. Removed on trigger. 2 turns.
  • Double Cast: on Fire/Ice/Lightning skill use, effect triggers once more. Removed on trigger. 2 turns.

Classes (community): Archmage learns Thunderbolt; passive steals 1 TP if enemy survives a "combat attack" and gives +50% spell power for 1 turn; TP steal applies to basic attacks too, so TP is fairly plentiful. Sorcerer learns Explosion; gets Ultimate Aspiration (up to +15% spell power) when hitting 2+ enemies, replaced at 3 stacks by Magic Essence (+60% spell power, 2 turns). Storm Caller learns Energy Storm on the Spark Mage-Storm Caller exclusive tree; basic attack becomes Call Lightning (130% lightning damage, applies Shock -lightning resist, up to 3 stacks, on crit), and using basic/lightning gives +20% spell power and crit. Originally a swingy stacking class that lost stacks on skill use, but after the Inner Break update it was fully reworked into a top-tier lightning-specialized spell-power dealer class.

Key skills and ultimate (community): Energy Storm, the core unique skill, deals AoE lightning damage and gives a chosen ally 2-turn immunity to action-control and skill-control, which is a hard counter to Este Dode. It can immunize nearly all of Este Dode's strongest skills and even remove ones already applied. The ultimate Eld Empire is a support-type: grants all allies a spell-power-based shield for 2 turns; while it holds, attack/spell power +5% and it applies the "Luck" buff (crit chance checked twice, counts as crit if one succeeds); skill use also reduces that skill's cooldown by 1 turn. Notably a damage-dealing mage whose ultimate is a buff type.

Evaluation: A lightning-magic-specialized area dealer whose performance swings with the "coin lottery." As of mid-2025 Karim is the only lightning-specialized mage. Her lightning skills are Thunderbolt, Thunderer, Energy Storm (3 total). Hitting the jackpot Double Cast is very strong, but like any RNG-reliant character you must first gather 10 coins then beat a 1/5 chance; factoring in betting, roughly 1 trigger per turn at best, and with stages usually capped at 8~15 turns (3-star condition often 10 turns), you can expect about 1 activation per game. In exchange, stacking Sorcerer and exclusive-weapon passives yields enormous spell-power inflation, but Sorcerer needs to hit 2 enemies first, so warmup is long. Hoping Double Cast triggers at high stacks used to be "prayer meta"... but the June 2025 Inner Break update reworked the swingy Storm Caller into a class that gains flat stats just from basic attacks or lightning casts, greatly reducing instability. The ceiling may be lower but stability is secured, a sufficient buff. Also, the new character Iskenderun of the Sea (added before Inner Break) brought the "Ionization" debuff cutting lightning resistance by 80%, indirectly buffing lightning-specialist Karim.

  • Beyond lightning, the staple 3 from Mage and Explosion from Sorcerer give a decent AoE dealer kit; after the Iskenderun addition and Inner Break update she has risen to genuinely usable. Worth running in Garius Magitek raids etc., and a lightning-specialized party is a viable comp. Note that Iskenderun and Karim are different attributes.
  • In April 2026, the collab character Altair brought a skill that copies removable buffs to all allies in an area, making it possible to copy Double Cast to the whole team, giving her potential as a broken-tier supporter. Since Double Cast triggers Fire/Ice/Lightning skills twice and ultimates count as skills in this game, Fire/Ice/Lightning ultimates also trigger twice. This lets you fire two Snowfall Slashes or two Satellite Attacks to devastate the enemy line (and stun survivors), or cross the map instantly with two Flying Swallow Slashes.
  • (No explicit S/A/B tier letter rating present in this section.)
