Character review of Heavenly Demon Cheon by 하막군의게임튜브 · 2026-08-04
The reviewer went in cold — he hasn't read the webtoon and hadn't paid the collaboration much attention — and changed his mind while making the video. He says so explicitly: he started looking things up for the review and realised the character is very good. What follows is him working it out on camera. (0:00, 0:30, 1:00)
His summary at the end is unqualified: attack, physical penetration, damage reduction, Crit Rate and an answer to fixed damage — good at all of it. (13:17)
Sovereign's Reign starts at maximum
The match opens with Sovereign's Reign already at five stacks — so attack, physical penetration and damage reduction are all at full value from turn one, up to +50% attack and penetration and -50% damage taken at full manifestation. Being attacked strips a stack and grants Nano Restoration.
Stacks come back on attacking, and killing something returns 1 TP and an extra stack — so a kill restores two while a miss restores one.
The part that makes him rate it: at maximum stacks, ending his turn grants an extra turn and spends a stack. Since he starts at five, the first turn is always a double action, and hitting anything during that second action tops the stacks back up for next turn. (1:00, 1:30, 2:00, 2:30)
Class: Demon God Sword or Heavenly Demon Sutra
Neither tier-3 class is in our own kit data yet, so these are read off the review and gmap.
The Demon God Sword class cuts critical hit chance and critical damage taken by 25%, and when an enemy ends its action within 4 tiles he gains Transcendent Demon Path — extra movement and range, Crit Rate and critical damage — or, if he already holds it, a turn off his longest cooldown. It's an aura effect, so it simply persists until he attacks. (2:30, 3:00, 3:30)
The Heavenly Demon Sutra class gives +25% attack and Crit Rate, scales attack further with the health he has lost, and grants Preemptive Strike whenever he isn't at full health. It also cuts damage taken by another 25–30% against an isolated enemy.
That last clause is the one he keeps coming back to, because the standard threat model is a single attacker diving in alone — Heidelun is his example. Passive -50% plus class -30% is roughly 80% damage reduction before you build anything. (3:30, 4:01, 4:33)
He also puts penetration at about 95% on One Against a Thousand with a fully awakened weapon, before artifacts. (4:33, 8:10)
Skills
Nano Scan marks a 3×5 area and grants himself Nano Enhancement; the mark makes the target take more damage from anyone holding the enhancement, and Young Sect Leader Cheon carries the mirror of it, so the two stack up together.
One AI issue he found in testing: because the enhancement buff is gained regardless, the AI will happily cast Nano Scan at a wall with no enemies in range. (4:33, 5:03, 5:33)
Heavenly Demon Sword Control targets an enemy within 3 tiles and hits everything in one ring around it for 100%, refunds TP equal to the number of enemies hit, and takes 1 TP off each of them. Costing 2 TP and hitting three targets, it gains TP. He describes the play: cast it at 5 TP, hit two, get the TP back, trigger the re-action and immediately ultimate. It does nothing against TP-drain immunity or against an enemy with no TP. (5:33, 6:05)
Heavenly Demon Sword Art is 150% to the target and then 100% to everything in one ring around himself after combat — 250% on the primary target — and at end of turn he can teleport anywhere within 3 tiles. He calls it a very good skill and its 3 TP the only complaint. (6:05, 6:37)
The ultimate hits two rings for 140%, rising to 180% at full manifestation. Combined with the attack and penetration already stacked, he expects it to delete things. (7:07, 7:38, 10:43)
Gear and runes
One Against a Thousand, which is what puts penetration near 95%. For the accessory he's using Ancient Hero's Ring for lack of alternatives and notes the new Warrior's Tally as the other candidate, though he hasn't tested it and prefers the ring on paper.
Runes: all Chaos is the safe answer. If you want to push through penetration-resistance instead, Wind in a couple of slots does it. (7:38, 8:10, 8:40)
The weapon
Heavenly Demon Sword carries attack and Max HP, and on attacking gives Crit Rate and physical penetration up to +15% — that 15% is what completes the 95%. Between the weapon, the class's 25% and a base 10%, his Crit Rate is high enough that Black Crow is a real option, though he leans on penetration instead.
At the start of the turn, holding a debuff grants Heavenly Demon Blood Vessel. He points out the pairing: run him with Deimos of Chaos and Boiling Blood applies the debuff for you on turn two, so the damage reduction and counterattack bonus come online by themselves.
Awakening only moves percentages and the internal cooldown, which disappears at ★5 — after which the TP refund is available every turn. He's relaxed about it: at low awakening you use it once on turn one to fund an early ultimate; at ★5 with Boiling Blood feeding him, TP stops being a constraint at all. (8:40, 9:10, 9:42, 10:12, 10:43)
Manifestation
The first stage adds the line he rates highest: fixed damage he takes is converted into healing. Not reflected, not reduced — converted. Fixed damage is the standard answer to a character with this much mitigation, and he simply doesn't have that weakness. The same stage adds buff-duration extension.
Stage 4 removes the cooldown on the extra turn, which he calls the real investment target. Full manifestation adds action-control immunity and takes debuff-duration reduction from 1 to 2. (10:43, 11:13, 11:44, 12:16)
Artifacts
Warrior's Essence+11 more → and Crest of Chains+3 more → are the familiar pair, and Crest of Chains is the one that pushes penetration past 100% — which he says this character reaches trivially.
Imugi's Horn+1 more → gives resistance, TP-removal immunity and a pre-combat hit of up to 60% of ATK as fixed physical damage. He flags the catch himself: fixed damage against another character carrying the same fixed-damage conversion just heals them. Against everything else it's good, and he compares the shape to Isabel Ripine's exclusive weapon. Maximum damage takes Crest of Chains+3 more →; the safe general pick is Imugi's Horn+1 more →. (12:16, 12:46, 13:17)
Verdict
Strong on an attack deck and plausible on defence, where opening with two actions is worth a great deal on its own.
The reservation is not about the character. He's pulled through a separate currency, so outside heavy spending he is very hard to obtain — and the reviewer says that plainly rather than pretending otherwise. Opinion in the community is split between him and Young Sect Leader Cheon; having gone through the kit, he lands firmly on this one. (13:48, 14:18, 14:48)
Our write-up of the video above, not a transcript — the reviewer’s own findings and opinions, put into English against Heavenly Demon Cheon’s kit and linked up to the rest of the wiki. Timestamps open the original at that moment.
