Guide
The following is subjective KR-server NamuWiki community opinion.
Performance:
- Usually the recommended build is the Blader route (which learns Gwigyeokseom) into the offense-heavy Blade Master. Soldmaster and Dark Knight are not bad, but Blade Master's passive gives the "Geomhon" buff stacking Attack +15% to +20% per attack up to 3 stacks, so if you survive, Attack rises up to 60%, plus a trait reducing damage by 50% once per turn gives good offense-defense balance, so it is often taken as the final class. If you bring Dark Embrace from Dark Knight, you can stack Geomhon x3 at once.
- Main signature skill is Gwigyeokseom: target 1 enemy within 2 tiles, attack, then teleport to a spot within 3 tiles. Ranged attack plus post-attack teleport makes it very useful; learnable at the Tier-2 Blader, so training convenience is a bit higher. As a single-target burst dealer, Gwigyeokseom is often paired with Danwolseom for ranged coverage.
- Another signature skill from Blade Master is Gwipokyeolpa: AoE hitting 8 tiles around the character and applying a 1-turn TP-recovery-blocking "Suppress" debuff. Low multiplier and Suppress being hard to use well mean it is rarely adopted.
- The ultimate Seolhwananyeongcham (a Pendragon royal signature move) moves to a designated tile within 3 tiles and spreads AoE damage to enemies within 3 tiles. It applies Cold Slow, so it synergizes with the ice-type-skill siblings (Rashid, Iolin) and can also be used with Beradin.
Recommended Equipment:
- Signature weapon is of course Barisada, sharing history with the Genesis War series. Comes with an Attack% option by default; attacking a debuffed enemy raises damage and crit rate and applies Cold to the hit enemy.
- Ice's signature weapon Seolhwananyeong (added with Ice Pendragon) can also be used. It has a skill raising ice-type skill damage, so versatility worsens but Seolhwananyeongcham specifically gets stronger, and casting ice-type skills grants 1 TP as a kind of TP payback. At 3-awaken it adds a strong buff granting an extra attack/skill chance on ice-type skill use, but Crow's only ice-type skill is Seolhwananyeongcham so he cannot use it well, and the core weapon skill "Binjeong" added at 6-awaken is Ice-only so Crow cannot use it. So it is seen as expanding options rather than being recommended.
- Armor varies by playstyle. Usually give the Ilgidangcheon full set (Nangcheon costume motif) for physical penetration, or Salsu 2 (Hanzo costume motif) + hero-grade Hyeopgaek 2 for all-in offense. Some go Pungun 4-set for survival focus; since Crow's main skills Gwigyeokseom and Danwolseom are combat attacks, this also has good synergy. If crit options are well-arranged, the Crow (raven) set based on himself can be a good choice, but Crow has no crit-related passive at all and even his signature weapon only gives crit-rate-up on attacking debuffed enemies via Barisada, so matching stats is hard and practical setup is very difficult.
- For accessory, the Cursed Eye is recommended. It applies a debuff before combat with an enemy, so it can trigger Barisada's passive on almost any enemy, and it lowers enemy Attack and Spell Power aiding survival. It synergizes so well it is treated almost as Crow's dedicated accessory.
Evaluation:
- An offense-heavy character whose style is: leave survival to a strong revival skill, leverage Blade Master's strong 3-stack Geomhon to go all-in on offense, kill before dying, and even if killed, revive and self-destruct to kill the one who killed him before dying, thus surviving.
- (Not for nothing is he someone's brother: this fellow is also an avatar of vengeance.)
- Yet with a very strong revival skill, Blade Master's damage-reduction buff, and the Cursed-Eye accessory synergy, his survivability is also excellent, so a fully-set-up Crow is boasted as an essential-grade character for both PVP and PVE since launch. He performs decently even at "name-card" (dupe 0) stage, and with good enhancement efficiency he transforms into a strong S-grade character at endgame, so he is one of the most recommended characters for new users. However, since mid-2025, methods to apply healing-reduction / healing-block debuffs that make the revival skill useless have increased, his damage ceiling is low, and above all two Outer Ones have appeared, so compared to the past he has faded somewhat.
- In Genesis War Mobile's early launch he was mighty enough to dominate the meta; through the end of 2024, no character gained an advantage over Crow except the Grand-Niece released as an overt counter-pick with healing reversal, and even she was mediocre outside of countering Crow, so he ended up reigning as the duel-arena ruler.
- This dominance only faded into 2025 when his mortal enemy the Black Prince arrived with Ammyeongyeonsalgeom, a skill that ignores revival and removes him. Even so, having no good answer besides the Black Prince remains true; the fact that there is no counter-pick short of the Black Prince shows how strong Crow is.
- With Inner Break added, opinions on his performance became divided. Crow's main strength was tenacious brawling using Cursed-Eye debuffs, revival, and a tough body, but unlike the Black Prince, Cals, and Rashid he has no HP increase, so toughness is harder to lean on, and the artifacts all mismatch the character's strengths, causing operational difficulty.
- High-awakening Crow fills TP up to 3 on dying and reviving, so he is essentially designed to be thrown to die, then on revival fire Seolhwananyeongcham and self-destruct; in a way this is faithful to the original work, but since it differs from Crow's original operation the reception is somewhat split. Commonly though, since he was a good-performing character to begin with, the assessment is that at high awakening he is honestly strong.
- Also, receiving a new artifact established him as a physical-penetration dealer. In particular, since Seolhwananyeongcham counts as a ranged attack, it also gets the damage boost, letting him land a heavy hit. Compared to the Ice version that can receive the sibling's buffs his utility is lower, but as a traditionally popular character there is room for indirect future buffs, so if you have affection he is worth raising.
- No explicit S/A/B tier letter is stated beyond "S-grade performance at endgame" (KR-server community opinion).
