Rune System Guide

In Genesis War, the Rune system lets you fine-tune your characters’ combat power and build toward your preferred playstyle.

This guide covers the basics of Runes— including how to obtain, unlock, equip, and enhance them— so Guardians can make the most of Runes based on each character’s traits and role.

Please refer to the information below to experience more strategic growth and battles through the Rune system.

Runes

Runes are growth items that grant various stats to your characters. By combining rune grade, theme, and set effects, you can build your characters strategically. Runes come in three grades: Rare, Heroic, and Legendary. Regardless of grade, equipping a certain number of runes of the same theme will activate a set effect. Set effects can be stacked. For example, a 2-piece set effect can be applied up to 3 times.

Rune Slots and Structure

Runes can be equipped in a total of 6 slots, each named after the Sephirot of the Kabbalah.

How to Obtain Runes

Runes can be obtained through various content, such as Machina War. Additionally, you can trade currency earned from the Arena for Runes in the [Shop] → [Exchange] tab.

Rune Slot Unlock

There are 6 rune slots in total, which unlock as your character reaches certain levels. Unlocking a rune slot consumes 5 Memory Fragments for that character and 100,000 Eld. Starting at Character Level 25, one slot unlocks every 5 levels, allowing you to equip up to 6 runes.

Removing Runes

Runes equipped in unlocked slots can be removed in two ways: Extraction or Destruction. When you extract a rune, you will need one of the following items depending on its grade:

  • Rare: Bronze Scissors of the Void
  • Heroic: Silver Scissors of the Void
  • Legendary: Gold Scissors of the Void

Extracted Runes are returned to your Inventory. If you remove a Rune without using Void Scissors, it will be destroyed and permanently deleted, and cannot be recovered or reused.
